A Heat Shield Cover fits over the outside of your tent or shelter roof. It reflects light and heat to help reduce the temperature inside while adding another layer of protection from UV exposure, pollen, tree sap, bird droppings and other debris.

The amount of temperature reduction will vary depending on the model, weather, campsite and surrounding conditions.

Set up your tent or shelter first, then position the Heat Shield Cover over the outside of the roof and secure it using the attachment points provided.

The exact method depends on the model. Most covers use hooks and adjustable straps, while Aerospeed covers attach to the brow poles using eyelets and tensioners. Follow the instructions supplied with your Heat Shield Cover to position and tension it correctly.

Heat Shield Covers are shaped and sized for specific tents and shelters, so they are not universally compatible. Some covers fit more than one model or version, but only when those models are listed in the product’s compatibility specifications.

Yes. Remove the Heat Shield Cover before packing down or deflating your tent or shelter. This helps prevent condensation from becoming trapped between the two roof layers and makes the next setup easier.

Remove the cover during very windy or stormy conditions, and make sure it is completely dry before storing it. Refer to the instructions supplied with your cover for full care and pack-down guidance.

Both accessories help reduce heat inside your tent or shelter. The difference is where they are fitted:

• A Heat Shield Cover fits over the outside of the roof. This was previously called a Roof Cover.
• A Heat Shield Liner attaches inside the tent or shelter.
