EXPERT ADVICE

What does a Heat Shield Liner do?

A Heat Shield Liner attaches inside the roof of your tent or shelter. It creates another layer beneath the roof to help reduce the internal temperature on hot, sunny days.

Some model-specific liners may also help darken the interior or improve airflow and climate control. Check the product features for the benefits provided by your selected liner.

How do I attach a Heat Shield Liner?

Set up your tent or shelter first, then attach the Heat Shield Liner to the connection points inside the roof.

The attachment method varies by model. Depending on the liner, it may use hooks and rings or a combination of buckles, toggles and eyelets. Follow the instructions supplied with your liner to identify the correct attachment points and make sure it sits flat and evenly beneath the roof.

Are Heat Shield Liners compatible with different tents and shelters?

Heat Shield Liners are shaped and sized for specific tents, shelters or modules, so they are not universally compatible. Only use a liner with the models listed in the product’s compatibility specifications.

Always check the exact model and size before purchasing. A liner designed for another tent or shelter may not fit its internal attachment points correctly.

Do I need to remove the Heat Shield Liner before packing down?

Yes. Remove the Heat Shield Liner before deflating or packing down your tent or shelter. This helps prevent condensation from becoming trapped between the liner and roof and makes the next setup easier.

Make sure the liner is completely dry before storing it. If it is packed away wet, remove and dry it as soon as possible to help prevent mildew.

What’s the difference between a Heat Shield Liner and a Heat Shield Cover?

Both accessories help reduce heat inside your tent or shelter. The difference is where they are fitted:

  • A Heat Shield Liner attaches inside the tent or shelter.
  • A Heat Shield Cover fits over the outside of the roof. This was previously called a Roof Cover.

Always choose the accessory designed for your specific model.
